Parking lot at the airport in southern Poland - holidays 2020 and coronavirus

Contrary to expectations, flight prices due to COVID have not increased, and we can still travel thousands of kilometers quickly, easily, and pleasantly for a small amount of money. It is no wonder that air connections continue to be popular among travelers. Although the number of airports in Poland is not yet optimal, the choice is becoming greater. Additionally, we can arrive at our destination by our own car. The airport parking is the right place where we can leave our vehicle. Let's try to answer the question: from which airport in the south of the country is it best to start our journey?

Holidays and Coronavirus

Although analysts believe the tourism industry is experiencing a crisis, many Poles do not intend to give up their holidays. There is interest in trips within Poland, vacations by the sea, but also holidays abroad. Today, many tourists are looking for slightly different means of transportation (e.g., international train connections or hitchhiking), but a significant number are not giving up on traveling by airplane. The threat of the coronavirus has not disappeared. In many countries, we still observe an increase in cases. It cannot be denied that some infections are related to holiday travels. On the other hand, it must be acknowledged that awareness among travelers has increased. Tourists have learned the rules they should follow and how to react to potential symptoms. For this reason, most outbreaks of the disease are now connected to workplaces, not tourism. Before starting a journey, it is worth checking the infection rate in the country we are heading to. We should also familiarize ourselves with the restrictions in place there (as these may vary by country) to avoid fines or penalties. It is also a good idea to think about appropriate health insurance. There are many companies on the market offering group packages as well as smaller policies, for periods ranging from a few to several days. Some cover individual countries, some are valid across the continent, and even worldwide. When choosing airport parking, remember to select an option that allows us free cancellation if our flight is canceled.

Airport Parking in Southern Poland - Departure Destinations

For airports located in southern Poland, we can choose from four places. Each of them is well connected to nearby cities and to the rest of the country. Our choice will depend on our place of residence as well as our travel direction. If we are traveling by our own car, it is worth considering leaving it in the vicinity and finding the optimal airport parking for us. For example: if we choose Kraków, airport parking shouldn't keep us awake at night - there are many places around where we can leave the car.

  1. Katowice-Pyrzowice
In this case, we have quite a few interesting holiday destinations at our disposal. From Pyrzowice, we can fly directly to Majorca, Tenerife, or Barcelona. Italian Sardinia is also tempting, as is the often overlooked (yet fascinating) Catania. An interesting option is the possibility of direct travel to Podgorica. Montenegro is an ideal country for a vacation, and moreover, we can easily reach other capitals of the Balkan countries from there. Croatian Split and Cypriot Larnaca are also very popular. Pyrzowice has a rich parking offer; we can choose VIP garages Mega airport parking, or a more economical version, like Horyzont airport parking.
  2. Kraków-Balice
The airport maintains many so-called "emigration destinations." Some of our compatriots choose Balice to visit relatives in Scandinavia, the British Isles, or Denmark. These destinations can also be attractive for tourists - large airports offer the possibility of connecting flights to destinations not directly available from Poland. Of course, travelers heading on holiday have not been forgotten. From Kraków, we can reach the largest Italian cities: Rome and Milan. Southern France could be an interesting option. Sun-seeking tourists will choose Nice, while pilgrims will head to historical Lourdes. Those escaping the heat will also find something for themselves. Direct flights to Iceland are a great idea to avoid stuffiness and blazing sun. This year's hit may turn out to be Kalamata, a Greek city located in southern Peloponnesus!
  3. Wrocław-Strachowice - Wrocław
Like Kraków, it has many flight connections with countries that have high emigration rates from Poland. For tourists, an interesting destination may be Dortmund. Although the city itself does not have many historical monuments, it will serve as an excellent base for exploring the rest of the country. It's worth considering a trip to southern Italy - the beaches in Bari are not as crowded as those in other regions of Italy. Official Wrocław airport parking has prepared several thousand parking spaces for travelers, making our trip to Italy even more enjoyable.
  4. Rzeszów-Jasionka
Rzeszów does not offer as many connections as the above-mentioned airports, but due to its location, it can be an interesting option for residents of Subcarpathia. Starting from Jasionka, we have several holiday destinations to choose from, such as: Thessaloniki, Barcelona, or Burgos. An interesting solution is a flight to Szczecin - the prices for such a connection are comparable to the cost of a train ticket, and the comfort of travel is significantly greater!

Airport Parking

For large airports, we can use spaces offered by the airport or opt for a airport parking located nearby. It is often wise to consider this second option when, for example, it turns out that the airport parking located in Kraków Balice is fully occupied. Most of them are professionally managed facilities of sufficiently high standards. Remember that many airports are far from city limits, so choosing to travel by car can save us a lot of time. For example, choosing a parking facility located next to Katowice Pyrzowice airport can save us dozens of kilometers of public transport travel!
